About Me

Do you love writing? I do. While many people seem to dread the writing process, writing is one thing that I have always loved because it provided an outlet for me to express myself. There is something special about taking the time to determine just the right words to use and how to arrange them to clearly convey what’s on your mind and heart. More and more, people are finding the need to communicate with others more effectively, and writing is one of the most common and convenient ways to do just that.

 

Prep and Prose is a way for me to offer professional writing and editing services, especially for those who may find writing less enjoyable or who would rather spend their time focusing on other tasks. I came up with the idea for this business through my interactions with personal and professional contacts who were seeking assistance with finding the words to say what they needed to say or who just needed help proofreading what they had already written.

 

My vast experiences working in education, journalism, public relations, interactive marketing, as well as with non-profits, have provided me with the tools and expertise needed to assist clients with their individual needs relating to copyediting and copywriting. I currently hold a Ph.D. in Adult Education and a M.A. in Communication and Journalism, both from Auburn University, as well as a B.A. in English from Spelman College. My dual roles as a university lecturer as well as a practitioner allow me to approach writing projects with versatility, from academic and professional to creative prose. I look forward to meeting and working with you as you write your way to your next goal.
